In the Guardian today a pretty thorough article on the state of the music business.
It does not cease to amaze me how rapacious the industry has been in the past, not sure if that justifies theft but I do feel better that the artists seem to be gaining more control over their business affairs as the major labels struggle.

Read this on the way home yesterday. Who the heck are the Bros anyway? I think it's justice served for the raping of the artists and the consumer in years past. Personally, I bought very few actual CDs in 2007 (or the last several years for that matter)- less than 20 - and if I did, I paid no more than $7 a piece through some buy 1 get 4 free deal at BMG. This is good in teh eand because they will have to search harder for more artists - making a little from a lot instead of a lot from a few big names.
