smoke daddy

slow cooked food has featured steadily at the main event with chili and carnitas being memorable examples. and sure as shootin clancy's provided excellent nosh for the steady stream of visitors throughout. this year i'll add the suggestion that we arrange for smoke daddy to cater. it is some of the best bbq in the city and it would be easy to pick it up beforehand. that of course would not rule out home cookin, so chime in with thoughts, comments.

i am all for glogg if the temp is below 40* and all this snow makes it more fitting! my preference would be for it to be served when the group is at its largest and everyone raise a glass together.

also, i was enjoying a tipple with stein over the weekend and we discussed making a minor alteration to the plans for food. he and i do both like cooking for friends so we would miss out on that element if we go strictly with catered items. so, the sides i think we'd still get from SD (cornbread, mac n cheese, cole slaw, beans) and mike will do a smoked brisket and i think i will look to do either some pulled pork or chicken.

I will smoke a beef brisket, weather permitting. If it ends up being too cold, I will switch to some type of braised meat instead...
