pitchfork has announced more new bands and one of the Friday bands is going to give djfs a reason to reconsider his 2 day pass. Mission of Burma playing Vs! Also, add Ghostface, Jarvis Cocker, Dinosaur Jr and Apples in Stereo to an already stellar line-up. color me impressed...

Got My Ducat

Just picked up my 3 day pass, and an extra for my bro-hams who might just still be visiting. Fingers crossed there as it was great to have him along for last year's fest.

So, I got my Animal Collective wish. They top Saturday night's bill and hoping that holds out as it will mean a longer set. The other two big acts Public Enemy playing It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back on Friday and Spiritualized fronting their forthcoming album Songs in A&E will close out Sunday.

Pitchfork Music Festival

From the interview between DeRogatis and Ryan Pitchfork it looks to be July 18-20. I had thought I was going to miss again due to a planned trip to NYC in June.

Exceptions to the Rule

Destroyer are playing at the Logan Square Auditorium on Thursday April 17th and I am going to make an exception to the weeknight show embargo. Whether he plays acoustic, electric or both, I need to be there, anyone want to join me?

I was hoping Dan would hang around Chicago to play with the New Pornographers on Sunday April 20th but no dice, his tour continues on and he plays Montreal that night. I already have tickets for the NP show, another school night I guess so I am breaking this rule left and right, but for these bands it will be worth it. the New Pornographers play the Riv that night so BBQ at my place if anyone is interested. Oh, and I have tickets to the Fire game that afternoon at 2p as well. Maybe I need that Monday off?
