Beatles Box Set - Stereo or Mono?

OK - I am asking for one of these for Xmas. Which one should I get? From what I have read, I am leaning towards mono, but it seems to be a mixed bag (generally, pre-Revolver is best in mono, post is better in stereo). What to do? Mono seems to be the more unique and limited offering, but I have been raised a stereo guy. Please help...
